What a difference a few days make! (day 22)

Steve stopped by, and was able to catch the guys in action today. So much has happened over the past couple of days, the second floor and roofing! A lot of pictures:

Love the bay window!

They had the basement blocked off so he wasn't able to get down to that area. Tommorow the begin rough heating and air conditioning, and rough plumbing over the next few days. It's becoming so real!

  1. Looking good!

A few questions for you. Why did the county require an additional window in the family room? Was it for extra ventilation because of the gas fireplace? Did RH pay for the extra window?

    1. I received notice from the sales rep that in order to build the home in that particular community in the county, the Site Design & Architectural Review (SDAR) approval of the Rome house type had to be in accordance with the Architectural and Site Design Guidelines and Standards (A.S.D.G.S.). Their requirements ranged from the number of shrubs each house must have, the number of trees, the color matching of the door and shutters, and depending on the type of elevation whether additional windows were needed. Ryan Homes had to pay for the additional window in the family room and in the 3rd bedroom since the home was considered high visibility.

  2. I love the bay window! I wanted one so bad but my husband talked me out of it. He said it was a lot of money to spend on windows that face the neighbors house. He had a good point.

  3. Timika, I want a bay window!!! I am so surprised that the country required a bay window instead of the standard window. I was told back in February that the Rome could not have a bay window because of its structure. We are in PG County. Timika, which county do you live in? I am going to check with the SR to see if they can install it. It really makes the space larger and beautiful! As for the other windows, I was told that bedroom 3 & 4, the family room, the living room and the garage were required to have windows, so these were free for us too. @ Asia, you will be getting these windows too! HOLLA!!
